Basketball players require speed, agility and a powerful jump. Feet must be lightning quick for side to side movements and the core muscles must be conditioned for balance and body control.

Basketball Speed Training

Whether attacking or defending, quick feet are essential in basketball. Rarely will a player get the chance to attack or defend in a straight line, so therefore speed and agility training is vital. Using the Speed Bands while doing the exercises shown in the videos will give your hamstrings, quads, glutes and core muscles the explosive power needed to get to the next level.

 

A major advantage of the Speed Bands over other resistance bands is that they are not just limited to linear or straight forward movements. Any sport specific movements can be made and this ensures all muscles are being trained and conditioned for speed.

 

Once you put the straps around each leg, attach the resistance bands you will start conditioning the fast twitch muscle fibres in the hip region so you can accelerate up and down the court.

 

The Speed Bands activate the glute muscles which contribute to an explosive high jump. Speed Bands can be worn when performing any exercises in training to give your legs that extra strength and power for increased performance.
